Three games in four days resulted in the Hawk volleyball team raising their season record to 7-1. The Colman-Egan team hasn’t lost since the opening match to Class A Baltic on August 29. This week, they’ll host Canistota on Tuesday, travel to play Class B fifth ranked Gayville-Volin on Thursday, and then host Howard on Tuesday, October 1.
vs. Madison
MADISON – The Colman-Egan Hawks earned a victory on the road as they defeated Class A Madison in four sets on Monday, Sept. 16.
The Hawks won the first set 25-17 before Madison evened the match with a 25-22 victory in the second set. But C-E closed out the match with two competitive sets, winning the third set 25-22 and the fourth set 25-20.
Brynlee Landis had 17 kills for the Hawks with two blocks and 18 digs. Elaina Rhode also had a big night offensively with 14 kills.
Finley Luze had 22 assists to go with six kills and four aces. Presley Luze had 21 kills. Kaylee Voelker had six kills, 24 assists and 14 digs.

SALEM – September 17, the girls traveled to Salem to face the McCook Central Fighting Cougars and swept the hosts.
The Hawks won the first set 25-14, the second set 25-15 and the third set 25-12.
Elaina Rhode led C-E with nine kills. Brynlee Landis had eight kills and Anna Zwart had six kills.
Presley Luze and Finley Luze each had five aces in the win while Savanna Schmidt had two aces.
vs. Iroquois/Lake Preston
LAKE PRESTON – Thursday, the Hawks defeated Iroquois-Lake Preston on the volleyball court in three sets, 25-11, 25-16, 25-10. No stats were given.
