The Flandreau Flier volleyball team lost to Deubrook in homecoming action on Tuesday, and also were swept in the Big East Conference tourney where they finished in eighth place.
FLANDREAU — The Dolphins swept the Fliers, but two of the three sets were close. Deubrook came away with a 25-15 in set one and then won sets two and three by scores of 25-22 and 25-23.
Zoey Molengraaf led the Dolphins with eight kills, six blocks and two aces. Kylee Johnson had 13 digs, four kills and two aces. Matte Bauman had 25 assists and three aces. Chloe Haines and Rhiley Grenz each had five kills. Haines had eight digs and Carly Engelstad had nine digs.
BALTIC – In the Big East Conference tournament, the Fliers were first stopped by Baltic 22-25, 8-25, 19-25 on Thursday evening. They then played Beresford and lost in five sets, 32-30, 25-19, 22-25, 24-26, 9-15.
SALEM – At Saturday's BEC tourney finals, Parker took a five set win over the Fliers, 26-28, 20-25, 25-23, 25-19, 6-15 to put the Fliers in eighth place.
