Liam Knippling and Abe Streitz, both seniors at Flandreau public school, recently attended the Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) national trip held in Washington, DC. CWF is a 4-H sponsored trip held annually that unites senior 4-H members from across the country in a comprehensive 5-day training and educational tour.

It is a big week in and around Moody County for annual summer events. The Moody County Fair this year includes events all week starting Monday with a Companion Animal Show at the Extension Office and a 4-H Family Appreciation event.

The court appearance by Joseph Gene Hoek this past Thursday in Moody County was brief and to the point. Hoek, it was announced, has been deemed competent to face the First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Eluding charges against him related to the February 2, 2024 death of Moody County Chief Deputy Sheriff Ken Prorok. Five weeks has been set aside for the trial which is set to begin on April 21, 2025.
