Redhawks edge Hawks in homecoming game

COLMAN – The Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks along with three touchdowns from Regan Schwartz spoiled Colman-Egan’s homecoming celebration last Friday.
Estelline/Hendricks took the narrow win, 30-28 with the difference coming on a failed Colman-Egan two-point conversion.
The Hawk scoring came from a 50 yard touchdown pass from Hayden Pearson to Jase Mousel in the first quarter.
They next scored twice in the second quarter when Pearson kept the ball and scampered in from three yards out and tagain from one yard out.

Colman-Egan’s final score came via the air when Pearson found Mousel in the endzone for a one yard touchdown pass late in the game.
The Hawks were three of four in two-point conversions.
Pearson led the team on the ground rushing 14 times for 88 yards and also through the air completing 9 of 17 passes for 95 yards.
Mousel caught five of those passes for 63 yards.
Colman-Egan garnered more total yards than Estelline/Hendricks, 235 to 211. The Hawks totaled 96 yards in the air and 139 on the ground. They also converted 10 first downs compared to the Redhawks’ five.
Pearson led the defensive effort with seven tackles and he snagged one interception. Thomas Loehr aided the effort with six tackles.
Touchdowns were scored by Schwartz (3) with one coming as a kickoff return and Matthew McAnisish.
