Paul Douglas Miles, 57, of Sioux Falls, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Sanford USD Medical Center. A celebration of life was held from 5:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Colman Community Center. 

Paul was born on May 10, 1966 to Leslie and Judy (Croon) Miles in Dell Rapids, South Dakota. He grew up and received his education in Colman graduating from Colman High School in 1984. From there he moved on to Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls where he would study civil engineering and architectural design and earn a degree. Paul was then employed at GeoTek Engineering and Testing in Sioux Falls for 31 years.

On September 28, 1985 he was united in marriage to Laurie Wiste at St. Peter Catholic Church in Colman, SD. to this union the couple was blessed with three children, Jordan Paul, Whitney Nicole, and Elly Marie.

He was a family man who loved spending time with his loved ones, especially his 8 grandchildren. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Other hobbies included growing a garden and canning.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Laurie Miles, Sioux Falls, SD; his son, Jordan Miles and his wife, Ashley, Onita, SD, daughters, Whitney Barbush and her husband, Jeremy, Oklahoma City, OK, and Elly Johansen and her husband, Chris, Jasper, MN; mother, Judy Miles, Colman, SD; siblings, Ron Miles and his wife, Jen, Dan Miles and his wife, Jana, Colman, SD, Deb Welch and her husband, Scott, Sioux Falls, SD, Tim Miles, Flandreau, SD, Amy Schmidt and her husband, Randy, Bill Miles and his wife, Marie, Tina Uhing and her husband, Mike, all of Colman; eight grandchildren, Atticus, Karsen, Augie, Kenden, and Statham Miles, and Trent, Braelynn, and Cambria Johansen and another beautiful grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Miles and grandparents, Lyle and Berniece Croon and Harold and Evelyn Miles.
