Maxine L. "Boots" Doyle

Maxine Lucille “Boots” Doyle, 98, of Flandreau, SD, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Flandreau. Maxine was born on December 29, 1919 at Denison, IA, to John and Anna (Lorenzen) Wiese. She moved to South Dakota with her family in 1924. Maxine received her education in rural Brookings and Moody County schools. She worked and stayed at home with her parents until her marriage to Ervin Doyle on June 19, 1950 at Chester, SD. They started farming northwest of Flandreau in 1951 and continued to farm until her husband’s death on February 28, 1976. Boots moved into Flandreau in October of 1977. She worked for 15 years for Interlakes Community Service as an assistant cook and also volunteered at Riverview Manor starting in 1985. Boots was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, socializing with friends with a cup of coffee, dancing, playing cards and visiting on the telephone.

Boots is survived by two sons, Steven (Becky), Colman, SD; William (Jackie), Flandreau; four grandchildren, Andrea (Ben) Kramer, Hot Springs, SD; Brian Doyle, Brookings, SD; Nina (Ray) Ringstmeyer, Hot Springs, SD; Blake (Tessie) Doyle, Granbury, TX and six great-grandchildren, Jaida, Connor, Layton, Davie, Willa and Milo. She was preceded in death by her husband Ervin, her parents and 11 siblings, Adeline, Carl, Bernhardt, Johannah, Elmer, Marie, Winnifred, Andrew, Robert, Edith and Alice.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau, SD, with burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau. www.skrochfc.com
