Mark A. Jewett, age 60 formerly of Waseca, died on Thursday, February 22, 2024 in Texas as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Born on November 17, 1963 in Flandreau, South Dakota, he was the son of Richard and Alice (Nelson) Jewett. At a young age, Mark moved with his family to Waseca.
He graduated from Waseca High School in 1982. Mark worked at Brown Printing Company and Federated Insurance. He later moved to Bemidji where he ran his own lawn service. He recently relocated to Texas in his RV. Mark enjoyed snowmobiling, riding motorcycle, playing softball and pheasant hunting.
He is survived by his father, Richard Jewett of Flandreau, SD; sister, Kathy Kastens of Waseca and her children: Jamie (Jenny) Nace of Paynesville, and Shaun (Shags) Nace of San Diego, CA; brother, Larry Jewett of Flandreau, SD and his children, Rob and Sam Jewett; half siblings, Lisa (KK) Drapaeu, Danny (Stacy) Jewett of Crooks, SD, and Michael (Michelle) Jewett of Brookings, SD; and many aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Alice and Ralph Williamson; and his dog, Basil.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis Steffel Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Visitation will be held on Friday, one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will take place on a later date in South Dakota.
