James Robert "JR" Iverson

James Robert “JR” Iverson, 36, of Flandreau, passed away peacefully at his home with his aunt and uncle by his side on Monday, March 11, 2024. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Flandreau, SD. Family present visitation took place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau, SD.

JR was born January 30, 1988 in Pipestone, MN. He grew up and received his education attending Flandreau Elementary School and then graduated from Childrens Care Hospital and School in 2009.  He really loved his bus drivers and going to school. He also enjoyed participating in Mall Walks and Special Olympics. Other things JR enjoyed were driving his gator that Uncle Red bought him and also his John Deere lawn mower.

He also liked helping out and would do anything; he would help putting out the lawn furniture, he would put the chair on his head and carry it up. He also helped out around the house taking care of the garbage, doing dishes, and straightening up his tapes and CDs. He also enjoyed his computer, DVD player, country music, and hanging out in his cousin bills pickup, he always wanted to drive it.

Other hobbies included shopping at Walmart, he would go every weekend often to Pipestone or Brookings and would often come home with new things.

JR was employed at Advance in Brookings for 11 years where he made many friends.

Grateful for having shared his life are his aunt and uncle, Shirley and William Otto, Flandreau, SD; mother, Laurie Morrison, Garretson, SD; father, James Iverson, Flandreau, SD; cousins, Bill Otto, Dubuque, IA, Brian Otto, Flandreau, SD, Micah Otto, and Rylah Otto, both of Egan, SD; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Minnie and Don Iverson.
