FLANDREAU — The Flandreau Fliers took off in the third quarter, pulling away for a 62-44 victory in a Region 2A tournament matchup on Tuesday night.
The Fliers led 18-7 at the end of the first quarter but the Redhawks cut the lead down to 26-22 at halftime. Flandreau pulled away for a 48-31 lead at the end of the third quarter, however and held on despite a 17-14 advantage for Estelline/Hendricks in the fourth quarter.
Luke Sheppard led the Fliers with 20 points and nine rebounds while Paul Parsley had 14 points and six rebounds. Micah Otto had 11 points in the win.
Kyler Carlson led E/H with 10 points and Wyat James had nine points for the Redhawks.
Flandreau improved to 14-7 and will face Sioux Valley in the Region 2A semifinals at the Cossack Center in Volga at 7 p.m. Friday night.
E/H finished the season with a record of 11-10.
