The Flandreau Blue Teal went 0-2 this week and is now 5-11 on the season. The Blue Teal were to host the Colman A’s on Tuesday and Madison on Saturday. Both game start at 7:30 p.m.

Blue Teal fall in week’s games

The Flandreau Blue Teal went 0-2 this week and is now 5-11 on the season. The Blue Teal were to host the Colman A’s on Tuesday and Madison on Saturday. Both game start at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 11
Dell Rapids 12, Flandreau 0 (7 inn.)
The Blue Teal had just one hit, while Dell Rapids had 11 and that led to the 12-run victory for the Mudcats.
Dell Rapids scored a run in the top of the first after the Mudcats loaded the bases and C Gullickson scored on a ground out. The Mudcats added another run in the second on an error. Then an RBI single from T Fredenthal then pushed the lead to 3-0.
An RBI single from Gullickson made it 4-0 and then he scored on an error to make it 5-0 in the fourth. J Roemen then hit a home run in the sixth and a run from a wild pitch made it 7-0.
C Hunt scored on a wild pitch in the seventh and RBI singles from K Zimmerman and Fredenthal made it 11-0. D Allen then hit an RBI single of his own to make it 12-0.

Flandreau then went down one-two-three in the bottom of the inning and the game ended due to the 10-run rule.
Tristan Peters had the lone hit for the Blue Teal. Mason Riley pitched the first five and a third innings for Flandreau. He gave up seven runs, four earned, on six hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Kolby Peters pitched the final inning and two thirds and gave up five earned runs on five hits with four walks.

Sunday, July 14
Hartford-Humboldt 12, Flandreau 11
It was a back-and-forth affair on Sunday and the Gamecocks were able to outlast the Blue Teal.
Flandreau jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first three innings. The Blue Teals scored three runs in the second inning. Singles from Greg Sharping, Kolby Peters and Gassman loaded the bases with one out. Kolby Peters scored on a fielder’s choice and Ethan Johnson hit a two-run single to put the Blue Teal up three.
Flandreau added three more runs in the third. Riley and Kolby Peters hit singles to put two runners on with one out. Michael Witte then hit a two-run single to make it 5-0 and later scored on a passed ball to make it 6-0.

Hartford-Humboldt cut the lead in half in the top of the fourth. Blake Svoboda came to the plate with the bases loaded with two outs and cleared the bases with a double.
Flandreau answered with three more runs in the bottom of the inning. Sharping hit an RBI double and Kolby Peters followed with a two-run double to make it 9-3 heading into the fifth.
The Gamecocks scored a run on a wild pitch in the top of the fifth. Then Briggs Havlik hit an RBI double in the sixth to make it 9-6.
Hartford-Humboldt took the lead in the seventh with four more runs. Adam Hentges hit an RBI single and then a bases-loaded walk and a run from a passed ball tied the game. Another bases-loaded walk then gave the Gamecocks the lead.
Sharping pitched five innings giving up five hits, five runs and fanned nine batters. Johnson was his reliever and he took the loss.
