Fliers go 1-2 at the net

The Fliers swept Deuel last week and then lost to Elkton-Lake Benton and Sioux Valley on the volleyball court.
Vs. Deuel Monday
FLANDREAU – The Fliers earned the win in three sets, 25-5, 25-15 and 25-17.
Flandreau racked up the aces in the match putting down 10 unanswered serves. Addy Hammer had eight and Aly Schepel made two. Hannah Krull had four kills and Olivia Peters had three while defensively, Morgan Kontz had 11 digs and Sadie Iott made seven.
Schepel had 11 sets.
At Elkton Tuesday

ELKTON – The Fliers were led by 14 kills and 27 digs from Sadie Iott, but it wasn’t enough as Elkton-Lake Benton came back and took three of four sets last Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The Fliers won the first set, 25-20, but then lost three consecutive, 21-25, 18-25, 13-25.
Addy Hammer had 16 digs, Aly Schepel had 22 sets and Olivia Peters made seven kills.
Ella Hoffman and Hannah Krull each had a block on defense.
Vs. Sioux Valley Thursday
FLANDREAU – Sioux Valley improved to 15-1 on the volleyball court on Thursday night as the Cossacks swept Flandreau on the road.
The Cossacks won the first set 25-21 and then took a 2-0 lead with a 25-19 victory. Sioux Valley then completed the three-set sweep with a 25-20 win in set three.
The Fliers were led by Sadie Iott who had 10 kills and 22 digs. Addy Hammer had 15 digs and Aly Schepel had 12 assists. Ellla Hoffman had five kills.
Andrea Renkly had 18 kills, 10 digs and three blocks to lead the Cossacks. Kaedyn Sapp had nine kills, 12 digs and three aces. Caitlin Russell had 21 digs and Emma Gorvin had 11 digs.
Flandreau is 6-15 and was to host Beresford on Tuesday (Dig Pink Night) and then won’t be on the court again until October 15 at Clark/Willow Lake.
