Dr. Robert H. Hoffman, age 90, of Flandreau, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2020 in Flandreau.
The younger of two sons, Robert was born December 24, 1929 to Henry and Alice (White) Hoffman in Glenwood City, WI. He enjoyed telling stories of his early life on the rural Wisconsin dairy farm. His high school days included being on the basketball team and playing his accordion at local functions. Bob's classmates were close knit and in later years he always
looked forward to the annual class reunions. Robert married Wanda Hokeness on July 14, 1950. He graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA and practiced in Primghar, IA before moving his family to Fulda, MN in 1960. "Doc" loved his profession and was an avid golfer. In 1985 they moved to Sioux Falls to continue his practice. He later retired after 60 years of practice. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Flandreau.
Robert is survived by his daughter: Mary (Stuart) Ramert of Elk River, MN; son-in-law: Craig (Barb) Shea of Flandreau, SD; four grandchildren: Jean Shea Koehn (Jeff) of Watertown, SD; Jason (Tehar) Ramert of Big Lake, MN; John (Michelle) Ramert of Zimmerman, MN and Charlie Ramert of Big Lake, MN; 10 great grandchildren and one brother: William Hoffman, Glenwood City, WI.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wanda of 65 years and daughter Margo Shea.
