David L. Krogmann, age 75, passed away, August 12, 2018 in the VA Care Center, Big Spring, TX.
David Lee was the son of Louie and Elsie (Meier) Krogmann and raised on a farm near Elkton, SD. He served three years in the U.S. Army, including a posting in Berlin during the 1961 crisis when the Berlin Wall was built. After his discharge, he completed a program at a community college in Kalamazoo, MI and became a master electrician. David was able to combine his vocation and his love of traveling by working in geographical areas that he wanted to explore. His jobs ranged from an almond processing plant in California, construction of waste disposal facilities for Flying J Truck Stops, and putting in freezers for Price Clubs to working for coal, petroleum, and uranium companies and in nuclear power plants, He also owned electrical maintenance companies in Denver at two different times. Between jobs he traveled, often on a motorcycle. He had a pilot’s license for several years. David worked and/or traveled in all the states, except North Dakota and in several Canadian provinces.
David is survived by three daughters: Laurie (Perry) Henderson, Del Rio, TX; Carla Bolstad and Cindy (Greg) Norlen, both of Denver; two sons: David Lee, Grand Rapids, MI and Jeff (Shelley), Cape Coral, FL; nine grandchildren, several great grandsons and great granddaughters; four sisters: Marian Krogmann, CO; Doris Evink, MI and FL; Marie Krogmann, Brookings, SD and Deloris Krogmann, MI; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Krogmann, Lake Campbell, SD and a close friend, Jeannette Krogman and her granddaughter, Natalie Montecino, CO. David also leaves numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four siblings, Lillie Evink, Louie Krogmann, Elsie Heller and John Krogmann.
A Memorial Service will be held at the United Parish Church, Elkton, SD, on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Daren Junker officiating. Cremains have been interred in Union Cemetery, Flandreau.
