Myrna Headrick age 97 of Sioux Falls, passed away Tuesday October 24, 2017.

Myrna Healy, daughter of William and Rose Healy, was born on a farm south of Montrose, SD on November 1, 1919. She grew up and received her education there. After high school Myrna worked as a bookkeeper in Brookings, SD. She loved to dance and met her future husband Lyle Headrick at the local dance hall.

Myrna and Lyle “Curly” were united in marriage on May 8, 1943 at Camp Blanding in Florida. After the war the couple settled in Sioux Falls. In addition to being a loving homemaker and wife, Myrna worked at JC Penney’s for over 42 years retiring in 1982.

The couple continued their love of dancing and they enjoyed playing cards, traveling and visiting their grandchildren. Myrna was a long-time member of St. Jospeh Cathedral and presently a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Kenneth (Diane), Charles (Debbie), both of Sioux Falls, Randall and his special friend Sandy, of Swansea, IL, and Dawn (Arnie) Quast, McHenry, IL; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; 2 brothers: Donald (Violet) Healy, Sioux Falls and Lyle Healy, Lake Brandt, SD; and 2 sisters: Lorraine Kappenman and Eileen McDonnell, both of Sioux Falls.

Her parents, husband Lyle, 4 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Agnes Cleveland and Rose Marie Rayman and 3 brothers Bob, Raymond and Marvin, all preceded her in death.

Funeral Mass was said at St. Michael Catholic Church, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery.
