Kenneth John Iott, age 87, of Pipestone, MN, formerly of Clear Lake, SD, and Temperance, MI, passed away Friday November 17, 2017, at the Pipestone County Hospice House.

Kenneth was born to Howard and Catherine (Wernert) Iott, on August 25th, 1930, in Petersburg, MI. He married Berniece (Fager) Iott September 8th, 1951, in Maumee, OH, and eventually they settled on the home farm in Temperance, MI, and raised six children. Throughout his career, Ken worked for Willy’s Overland, farmed with his father and brothers and was a long-time employee for Roadway Express, where he achieved The Million Mile Safe Driving Award.

Upon retiring in 1992, Ken and Berniece moved to Flandreau, SD. After 49 years of marriage, Berniece passed away in 2000. He married Joyce Knock in 2001 and moved to Clear Lake, SD. They spent the next 15 years traveling, until Joyce’s death in 2016. Shortly after, Ken moved to Pipestone, MN, to be closer to family.

Ken was a hard-working, devoted husband and father who was happiest serving others. His daughters have fond memories of him changing their oil before a long road trip and starting their cars for them in the winter months.

He is survived by his six children: Christopher (Nancy) Iott, Ward, SD, Nanette (John) Marsh, Fayette, OH, Denise (Douglas) Stotz, Pipestone, MN, Kathy (Tad) Jacobs, Flandreau, SD, Dale (Kelly) Iott, Temperance, MI and Janelle (John) Gessner, Prior Lake, MN; 20 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; five brothers: William (Marian), Walter, Norbert (Lois), Earl (Jan) and Roland; four sisters: Lee Gaynier, Arvilla (Wayne) Reutz, Delores (Robert) Reilly and Loretta (Robert) Woelmer; three sisters-in-law: Cecelia Richardson, Leah Fager and Bernetta Flahie; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Berniece (February 2000), his wife Joyce (March 2016), his parents, brother Gerald and sister Bernice, and sister and brother in-laws.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 10 a.m. for visitation in the Chapel, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with interment in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery, Temperance, MI.
