Evelyn May Lutter passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at Avera Flandreau Hospital.
Evelyn was born January 4, 1923 at Chelsea, SD to Clifford and Marigold (Perry) Miller. She graduated from Northville High School, Northville, SD. Evelyn married Robert Lutter on January 4, 1942 at Mellette, SD. They lived in Northville and in 1962 they moved to Flandreau. Evelyn worked at the Flandreau Indian School as a cook for several years and taught home economics for one year. Bob preceded her in death on November 3, 2012. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and she enjoyed gardening, sewing and babysitting grandkids.
Evelyn is survived by 4 children, Sharon Lutter, Appleton, WI, Robert (Gloria), Hartford, SD, Stanley (Gail), Josephine, TX, Bill (Pam), Ramona, SD; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, LaVaun Hahn, Babbitt, MN, Vivian Allbee, Eureka, SD and Velma Weinreis, Parachute, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Flandreau with burial in Union Cemetery, Flandreau.
