Casey M. Johnson, age 22, Sioux Falls, formerly of Flandreau, passed away, Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

Casey Marvin “Marv” was born December 12, 1995 at Dell Rapids to Tim and Denise (Pank) Johnson. He grew up on the family farm with his brothers, Ben and Sheldon, northeast of Trent. He attended school in Flandreau, participating in wrestling and football, graduating in 2014. In high school Casey became known as “Marv,” a nickname which has stuck with him. Casey had completed 3 years of schooling with Independent Electrical Contractors and was working as an apprentice for Action Electric in Sioux Falls. Casey enjoyed many things and always made sure everyone was having a good time. He had a give it your all mentality and pushed others to the same. When it came time to attend the annual Historic Prairie Village event in Madison, Casey could be found setting up for the event a week in advance. Needless to say he, his family and his friends looked forward to this. He loved tractors; well anything with wheels was a passion of his. Even if it didn’t have wheels, Casey got creative and put wheels on it. Casey loved the water and camping, inviting his friends to his camper cleverly named “The Marv Inn.” At the Fourth of July event held on the family farm, he would line up the clay pigeon shoot. Casey was an honest, fun loving, hardworking, talented young man. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Casey is survived by his parents: Tim and Denise Johnson; two brothers: Ben (Danielle Paulsen) Johnson and Sheldon Johnson; his beloved dogs, Bo and Rocky; aunts and uncles: Warren (Eileen) Johnson, Mervin “Toby” Pank, Mavis Heibult (Lee Reed), Grace (Gary) Jensen, Gary (Cindy) Pank, Charlotte (Alan) Kuechenmeister, Rose Davis, Ronnie (Janet) Pank and Dianne Pank; several cousins; his close friend, Rhean Sundermeyer and numerous more friends.

Casey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Marjorie Johnson and Marvin and Charlotte Pank, and three uncles, Emery Johnson, David Johnson, and Charlie Pank.

His funeral service was held January 27, 2018 at Trent Baptist Church with burial in the Trent Cemetery.
