Adele C. (Lavato) Davis, age 72, of Flandreau, journeyed to the spirit world on March 18, 2020.
Adele Catheryn was born on March 29, 1947 on the Pine Ridge Reservation to Evelyn Grass Galvan.  Adele attended Holy Rosary Boarding school in Pine Ridge before attending Oglala High School. After graduation, she moved to Nebraska. She also lived in Illinois, Georgia, New Mexico and Japan.
She enjoyed ceramics, macramé, cooking, collecting foreign furniture and dancing. In Omaha, she enjoyed an occasional dance with friends and family. It wasn’t until 1980, her move from Clovis, NM to Omaha, NE that she relocated and began her journey as a single mother. She worked tirelessly, a full-time job with one part-time and attending school during the evenings. Adele was short of her Bachelor’s Degree in Business by 6 credits and always preached the benefits of an education to her family. She enjoyed all her family’s activities.
Adele is survived by her children: Andres Davis, Katie Estrada and Rosalie Nelson, all of Flandreau; Joseph Davis, San Diego, CA and Aaron Davis, Puyallup, WA; 17 grandchildren; three great grandchildren;  and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was March 23 at Eastman Hall, Flandreau, SD.  Ken James officiated.  Drum Group was the Wakpa’ Ipaksan Singers.
