Take Consolation at State A

It may not have been the ending to the season the Fliers were hoping for on the hardwoods, but many fans rallied around the girls team at a Welcome Home ceremony on Sunday as the team returned from a repeat trip to the State A Girls Basketball State Tournament.
The team brought home a 5th place trophy and ended the season 25-1 after a 56-41 victory over Mahpíya Lúta on Saturday.
“It was a fun weekend competing and celebrating a group of girls who have dedicated so much time to putting Flandreau basketball on the map,” said Head Coach Megan Severtson.
“I have repeatedly told the girls that there are very few places across the state who support girls basketball teams the way Flandreau does. Flandreau fans and alumni filled the stands in Brookings. We appreciate it very much.”
