The Moody County Fair kicks off July 28 with 4-H and open class judging of entries at the armory.
The following day on July 29, cat, companion animal and rabbit shows will take place before the parade, which begins at 6 p.m. under the theme “Moving Forward to a Brighter Tomorrow.” Parade entries are open to members of the community. The parade will start at the Moody County Museum and continue down Second Avenue.
Following the parade, a pork loin supper will be held west of the grandstand on the 4-H grounds from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are 46. Free ice cream also will be given away.

At 7 p.m. kids can participate in a tractor pull. The Flandreau City Band also will play at 7 p.m. on the grounds.
All events are open to the public without restrictions. Last year, the county didn’t have a fair because of the pandemic.
The July 30 events on Friday include the dairy cattle, dairy goat, market meat goat and sheep shows in the morning and early afternoon. Exhibits are open for viewing until 9 p.m. when there will be a free community movie.
Saturday’s events start with the swine show at 8 a.m., followed by the small animal pet show at 10 a.m. and the beef show at 11 a.m.
Exhibits are released at noon.
