Brant LeBrun of Flandreau, SD, was named the 2024 South Dakota Association of Towns and Townships (SDATAT) Scholarship recipient of $1500.
Brant graduated from Flandreau Public High School and plans to attend South Dakota State University majoring in agriculture business. He is the son of Ben and Brenna LeBrun of Flandreau Township in Moody County.

Applicants submitted an essay on the topic, “Consider the meaning of “paying it forward” as it relates to service and volunteerism. What are the potential positive effects and/or perceived negative affects?
Provide a detailed real-life example or experience to support your position. Reflect in your essay how this principal influences you today and in your near future.”
Brant’s letters of recommendation praised his strong leadership quality, communication skills, and also his “acts of kindness”.
Brant has been invited to share his essay at the South Dakota Association of Towns and Townships Annual Meeting December 5th and 6th in Aberdeen at the Best Western.
