Established in 2021, the event highlights the diversity of this small rural South Dakota town, home to large Filipino, Hispanic, and Native American populations along with countless other strong family heritages.

Flandreau Fridays, the popular event showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of Flandreau, returns on June 21, for its fourth year. Established in 2021, the event highlights the diversity of this small rural South Dakota town, home to large Filipino, Hispanic, and Native American populations along with countless other strong family heritages.
Organized by a dedicated committee of local volunteers, Flandreau Fridays has grown each year, drawing in local and regional food vendors, musicians, dance groups, and other talents. Local downtown businesses will also be open, aiming to attract new visitors.
This year’s event schedule:
● 5:00 – 5:10: Bagpipes
● 5:10 – 5:15: Youth National Anthem
● 5:15 – 5:20: Flag Song by Wakpa Ipaksan Singers
● 5:20 – 5:25: Introduction by Annie Garcia, with special thanks to Mayor Dan Sutton, City Administrator Cole Turnquist, City Council Members Mark Ekern, Karen Tufty, Mike Fargen, Curt Ahlers, Brad Bjerke, Tim Yeaton, FF Committee Members Serena Pederson, Leah Dailey, Itzel Soto Guerrero, Kim Hansen, Emily Pieper, Bret Severtson, Adam Day, Yancie Harris, and the Flandreau community.
