MADISON – The Colman-Egan volleyball team knocked off the undefeated #2 seed Bridgewater-Emery Huskies in a hard fought five sets in Region 4B action last Friday.
Bridgewater-Emery took the first two sets 25-21 and 25-23. C-E then won the next two sets, 25-22 and 25-19, to force a winner-take-all fifth set. The Hawks prevailed with a 15-12 win and advanced to their second-straight SoDak 16.
“We are all extremely excited and relieved that we made it past that game and are hoping we can play with the same intensity and energy on Tuesday night,” said Head Coach Abby Dockter.
“We had a lot of girls who made incredible hustle plays to do everything possible to win. They were all very determined to win and weren’t going to end the night without a fight. After losing the first two sets, some may have thought it was over, but the girls never gave up hope or determination and came out with an even bigger fight in the last 3 sets to take away Bridgewater-Emery’s undefeated season,” she added.
