Hawks fall, Fliers win big in Entringer Classic

COLMAN– Baltic topped Colman-Egan 60-36 in boys Entringer Classic action on New Year’s Eve.
Alex Haagenson of Baltic was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
Colman-Egan dropped to 0-4 with the loss and hosted 5-0 Howard on Monday, Jan. 4. The CE-Hawks then host Oldham-Ramona at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8.
FLANDREAU – The Fliers drilled Arlington 72-36 in the 27th annual Michael J. Entringer Boys’ Basketball Scholarship Classic on Thursday.
“The boys competed really hard and we were able to impose our will defensively,” said coach Brendan Sheppard. “It was a nice win for us coming off a poor showing against Beresford.
“We still need to make progress in taking care of the basketball.
“Mario Bonilla came off the bench and provided a great spark, with a bunch of hustle plays.”
Flandreau was up 19-10 after a quarter and pushed the advantage to 42-17 at halftime. It was 46-23 heading to the fourth.
The Fliers shot 63 percent (29-of-46) from the floor to offset 17 turnovers.
Tash Lunday posted a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds and was awarded teh game MVP.
Alex Anderson added 15 points, Liam Streitz 11 and Chase LeBrun 10. LeBrun also grabbed nine boards and dished out four assists.
