First year head coach Sam Baier will look to his upperclassmen to lead the Flier wrestling team this season.
“Our team has a solid core group of guys that have been around the block and know what it takes to be successful, so I am excited to see how this group leads the rest of our team and show the way to our younger wrestlers for years to come,” said Baier.
The Fliers finished their 2020-21 dual season at 7-13, took sixth in Regions (best finish since 2013-14) and sent three Fliers to the State B tournament.
Baier, a 2021 Augustana University graduate, says he has several wrestlers bunched up in the middle weights. He feels he if they can move some of them around and fill open weights in the duals, doing so “will be huge for us, as well as our biggest challenge.”
