Colman-Egan Boys end season in Regionals

DELL RAPIDS – The Hawks led after one quarter but it would be a big third quarter by Dell Rapids St. Mary as the key to ending Colman-Egan’s boys’ basketball season.
The Hawks lost in the first game of Region 3B play, 69-50.
Colman-Egan led after one quarter 14-13 while the Cardinals took the lead into the locker room, 32-25. Twenty-eight third period Cardinal points to C-E’s 17 was the deciding factor. C-E scored eight points to DRSM’s nine in the final frame.

Jase Mousel scored 19 and Jackson Zwart 17 for the Hawks. Jack Mousel led off the boards with seven rebounds and made two steals. The Hawks shot 38 percent as a team.
The Cardinals won the rebound battle 41-28 but the turnovers remained even at 13 apiece.
Nic Gaspar scored 20, Maverick LeBrun, 19 and Trevon Beckman 15 to lead the home team who fired a 44 percent in field goal shooting.
Colman-Egan ended the season with a 9-12 record. Seniors playing in their final high school basketball game were Jackson Wright, Karson Quale, Jonny Keyes, Tyce Ryan, and Tobey Lee.
