CANOVA – The Flandreau Blue Teal hung on for a 4-3 victory over Canova Gang on Sunday afternoon using two home runs and three RBI from Mason Riley to do so.
The Blue Teal led 4-0 heading into the ninth and gave up three runs, but were able to avoid giving up the lead entirely.
Flandreau scored one run in both the first and second inning. Mason Riley hit a one-out single in the first and then scored on a double from Kolby Peters. Gage Sharping then led off the second with a home run over the right field wall to make it 2-0.

The Blue Teal doubled their lead in the seventh. Paul McGlone led off the inning with a single and Sharping then hit one over the center field fence to make it 4-0.
Ethan Johnson came on the mound in relief but gave up three runs, two earned, on one hit.
Three-straight walks loaded the bases up for Canova in the bottom of the ninth. A sacrifice fly and a two-out two-run single made it 4-3 with two outs and a runner on first. However, the next batter grounded out and the Blue Teal got the win.
Sharping pitched the first six innings for the Blue Teal. He gave up just one hit and had 17 strikeouts and seven walks. Johnson also had five strikeouts and four walks.
