Blue Teal drops game to Madison

The Flandreau Blue Teal took a five inning loss to the Madison Dairy Queen Broncos on Saturday, 18-2.
Flandreau got on the board first when Christianson led off with a single and was followed by back-to-back walks by Witte and Riley. Sharping and Kolby Peters drove in runs with singles in the next two at-bats before Sam Gassman grounded out and Tristan Peters struck out to end the first inning.

The lead lasted until Madison scored seven runs in the top of the third. The Broncos added three runs in the top of the fourth inning and scored eight times in the top of the fifth inning to win the game via the 10-run rule.
Sam Gassman started the game and allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits and a walk with a strikeout over two innings. Riley allowed 10 runs (seven earned) on six hits and five walks with a strikeout over two innings. Witte allowed an unearned run while facing one batter out of the bullpen and Kolby Peters allowed three earned runs on four hits in one inning.
Flandreau had nine hits in the game. Peters and Sharping each went 2-for-3. Matt Gassman went and Witte each went 1-for-2. Kolby Peters and Christianson each went 1-for-3.
