MENNO – The Fliers improved to 3-4 on the year after defeating the Trappers at the Jim Woehl Athletic Complex in Menno on Friday night. Flandreau scored all 21 points in the first half to take a 21-7 lead into halftime and held on for the victory.
Flandreau’s first scoring drive was set up on a 61 yard pass play from quarterback Paul Parsley to Ethan Hoffman placing them on the Trappers’ 20 yard line. On third down, the duo connected again for a 21 yard touchdown pass with 5:02 left in the first quarter. The Fliers covered 72 yards for the score.
Two possessions later, Flandreau scored again on a 62 yard march when Parsley found Kolby Peters for a 21 yard touchdown catch with 8:59 left in the second quarter.
On second and six, Lane Johanson found a hole and ran in from the 46 yard line to complete the Fliers’ scoring with 4:49 left in the half.
