Flier boys sweep LC, BE meets

Allen medalist in both XC events

CLEAR LAKE – The Flandreau boys placed first – led by medalist David Allen – and the girls were second at the Lake Central Conference Cross Country Meet on Monday.

Boys
The Fliers totaled 13 team points and Clark/Willow Lake was second at 25.
Allen won the 5K race in 17 minutes, 25.71 seconds.
Austin Kulm placed second in 18:11.33 and Samuel Gassman was eighth with an 18:38.66 clocking to round out the team tally.
Also for Flandreau, Liam Streitz (18:54.03) was 11th, Lars Dailey (19:15.51) 13th and Lurick Dailey (19:31.9) 15th,

Girls
The host Cardinals finished with 14 team points. The Fliers were second at 19.
Hannah Parsley crossed in 21:07.58 to place fourth.
Lily Klein ended up fifth with a 21:18.2 clocking.
Reese Olinger finished 10th in 22:41.94 to complete the team score.
Also for Flandreau, Josie Hamilton (22:55.85) was 13th, Sadie Iott (22:56.43) 14th and Lizzie Pavlis (23:33.77) 16th.

JV boys
Flandreau dominated the meet, sweeping the top five spots individually and posting a team score of six – the minimum.
The Fliers put eight runners in the top 10.

Dylan Christenson crossed first in the 3K with a 10:53.43 clocking.
Tanner Reed (10:56.71) was second and Tyce Ryan (11:35.17) third to complete the team score.
Lanz Dailey (11:38.43) finished fourth, Matthew Gassman (12:00.81) fifth, Matthew Drietz (12:08.17) seventh, Brandon Van Dyke (12:12.68) ninth, Brenton Westberry (12:27.5) 10th, Benjamin Kulm (13:03.05) 18th, Daniel Hobbie (13:24.3) 21st, Abe Streitz (15:35.18) 32nd and Liam Knippling (21:18.85) 36th.

JV girls
The Flier girls were also dominant, taking the top four stops and finishing with six team points.
Teilona Hardy was medalist with a 3K clocking of 13:24.78.
Bella Olinger (13:44.05) and Whitley Olinger (13:47.37) placed second and third, respectively, to round out the team tally.
Tishara Hardy (13:57.2) finished fourth, Diamond Roy (14:15.66) seventh, Emily Martinez (14:45.43) ninth, Karissa Nolan (14:48.02) 10th, Yanjing Poveda Llorens (14:55.63) 13th, Bethany Britton (15:54.89) 20th, Mya Nichols (16:11.2) 21st, Bailey Bergjord (16:46.22) 24th, Katherine Kulm (18:16.22) 28th, Alice Williams (18:27.41) 29th and Lyla Thompson (18:35.18) 30th.


BEC


PARKER – The Flandreau boys finished second and the girls were third in the Big Eastern Conference Cross Country Meet on Wednesday at ParMar Golf Course.

Boys
David Allen won the 5K race in a time of 16 minutes, 27.2 seconds.
Beresford topped the team standings with 24 points and the Fliers were second at 27.
Liam Streitz (17:10.62) placed fourth, Austin Kulm (17:30.77) ended up ninth and Lars Dailey (18:06.41) crossed in 13th to complete Flandreau’s team score.
Also for the Fliers, Samuel Gassman (18:49.1) was 19th and Lurick Dailey (19:15.17) 22nd.


Girls
The Fliers had 43 team points.
Beresford won with 27 and Garretson was second at 32.
Baltic’s Ana Wilkison was medalist in the 5K in 18:49.48.
Hannah Parsley paced Flandreau, finishing fifth in 19:54.22.
Lily Klein (20:30.9) ended up ninth, Reese Olinger (21:39.89) finished 18th and Lizzie Pavlis (21:49.79) was 19th to round out the team tally.
Also for the fliers, Sadie Iott (22:01.63) was 22nd and Josie Hamilton (22:02.07) 23rd.

Boys JV
The Fliers won the team title with 15 points.
Tanner Reed was medalist in the 4K in 15:19.71, edging teammate Dylan Christenson (15:20.02).
Tyce Ryan (16:10.877) was fifth, Lanz Dailey (16:27.68) seventh, Matthew Gassman (17:01.09) 10th, Brandon Van Dyke (18:04.4) 20th, Benjamin Kulm (18:09.44) 21st, Matthew Drietz (18:10.53) 22nd, Brenton Westberry (18:30.78) 25th, Daniel Hobbie (19:37.42) 33rd, Jose Pacheco (19:49.85) 34th, Caleb Van Dyke (20:18.88) 40th, Brett Poitra (22:32.7) 46th and Abe Streitz (24:13.92) 49th.

Girls JV
Flandreau was second with 36 team points, as Beresford (12) finished on top.
Diamond Roy led the Fliers in the 4K, crossing in 19:04.92 to take seventh.
Whitley Olinger (19:36.82) was 12th, Bella Olinger (19:37.8) 13th, Karissa Nolan (20:21.9) 16th, Tishara Hardy (20:23.17) 17th, Teilona Hardy (21:00.6) 19th, Yanjing Poveda Llorens (22:20.3) 23rd, Emily Martinez (22:34.49) 24th, Bethany Britton (22:34.91) 25th, Mya Nichols (23:06.62) 28th, Bailey Bergjord (23:07.25) 29th, Katherine Kulmm (25:03.05) 33rd and Alice Williams (25:17.94) 36th.
The Watchdogs’ Destiny Himanga was medalist in 18:09.86.
