MENNO – The Colman-Egan girls finished fifth and the boys took ninth at the Menno Relays on Thursday.

Yankton easily won the title with 178 team points and Beresford (96) was second. The Hawks had 60 points.

Reese Luze won the 1,600-meter run in 5 minutes, 35.14 seconds and was second in the 800 with a 2:30.2 clocking.

Haleigh Nicol added a state qualifying victory in the triple jump with a mark of 32 feet, 10 inches.

Olivia Baumberger placed third in the long jump (15-11) which qualifies her for state and fourth in the 100 (13.26).

Mackenzie Hemmer took fifth in the 100 hurdles (17.33) and sixth in the 300 hurdles (52.33).

Grace Anderson ended up seventh in the shot put (32-5 3/4).

Colman-Egan finished fourth in the 4x100-meter relay (54.7), sixth in the 4x200 (1:54), and seventh in both the 4x400 (4:40.51) and medley (5:00.52).

Sioux Falls Christian cruised to the team title with 160 points, as Beresford (74) was second. The Hawks totaled 38 points.

Kade Groos led the way by finishing second in the 400 (52.2), third in the 200 (22.89) and seventh in the long jump (18-9). He qualified for state in the 200 and 400.

Dalton Voelker placed third in the shot put with a mark of 43-5.

Alec Landis was fourth in the discus (120-4) and fifth in the shot put (42-10 1/4).

Colman-Egan took third in 4x200 (1:38.16) and eighth in the 4x100 (49.29).

Flandreau at DeSmet

DE SMET – The Flandreau girls took 10th and the boys finished tied for 18th at the De Smet Booster Club Relays on Thursday.

Deubrook Area won with 105.5 team points and Hamlin (56) was second. The Fliers had 33 points.

Flandreau’s top finish came in the 4x800-meter relay as Madeline Hursey, Elizabeth Hursey, Hannah Parsley and Mara Lunday teamed to place second in 10 minutes, 52.95 seconds.

Ashtyn Bertram took fourth in the 100 (13.04) and fifth in the 200 (27.14).

Madeline Hursey was fourth in the 1,600 in 6:02.76, while Ellen Thompson placed fifth in the discus with a mark of 104 feet, 10 inches.

Cassidy Keith, Bertram, Elizabeth Hursey and Hannah Parsley were fifth in the 4x400 relay in 4:39.2. Keith, Kathy Parsley, Hannah Parsley and Bertram finished sixth in the 4x200 with a time of 1:57.22.

James Valley Christian placed first with 102 team points, as Hamlin (62) ended up second. The Fliers had nine points.

Flandreau’s Gabe Hobbie ended up fourth in the 3,200 with an 11:32.15 clocking. Michael Witte took eighth in the 110 hurdles in 19.37.

Trevor Hahn, Eduardo Povea, Witte and Andrew Julson teamed for a sixth-place finish in the 4x100 in 48.13.
