Blue skies, calm wind greet tricksters

FLANDREAU – Gorgeous weather met those who came to run, throw, jump or just watch the annual Flier Booster Club Invitational Track and Field Meet.

No team points were kept but the Fliers placed in many divisions.

GIRLS

The lone gold medal winner for the Fliers was Madeline Hursey as the Flier sophomore won the 3,200-meter run in 12:25.20.

Flandreau’s Isabella Pavlis placed fifth in the 100 in 13.53 while Cassidy Keith and Maria Parsley placed seventh and eighth in respective times of 13.83 and 14.07.

Hannah Parsley was second in the 200 meter dash with her time of 29.43 and sister, Maria Parsley finished fourth in 30.16 and Pavlis placed fifth in 30.64 seconds.

In the open 400, the Flier had three place winners: Hannah Parsley was second (1:02.59), Keith finished fourth (1:06.10), while Pavlis placed seventh (1:08.08).

Mara Lunday ran a 2:59.55 in the 800 to place sixth and Elizabeth Hursey placed fifth in the 1600 meter run, 6:01.37.

The Fliers finished second in the 4x200 relay at 4:44.28.

Lunday placed third in the long jump with a mark of 13-7.

Elle Thompson had a secondplace throw of 101-9 in the discus and she also took fourth in the shot with a put of 31-10 3/4. Catrina Standifer finished seventh in the discus with a throw of 71-3.

BOYS

For the Fliers, Dalyn Bakkedahl was a four medal individual winner placing fifth in the 100 (11.85), seventh in the 200 (25.33), second in the triple jump (39-6) and fourth in the long jump (17-9 3/4).

Luke Behrens was sixth in the 100 (25.18), Trevor Hahn placed seventh in the 400 in 1:03.51 and Gabe Hobbie finished fourth in the 3200 in 12:19.20.

Lars Daily placed fourth in the 800 in 2:23.96 while teammates Ben Hobbie (5:13.21) and Mario Bonilla (5:25.55) placed fourth and seventh, respectively, in the 1600.

The Fliers’ Tayson Alberts and Ben Hobbie tied for sixth in the high jump with a mark of 5-1.
