The Flandreau Flier wrestling squad is host to the annual Flier Booster Club Invitational this Saturday. It is the first outing of the season for the Fliers under first year head coach Cody Chamblin.
This is the 48th event sponsored by the Booster Club members. The event began in 1973 and has been held every year except 2007 and 2018 when it was cancelled due to weather.
Teams participating are Chester Area, Deuel, Elk Point-Jefferson, Flandreau, Garretson, Howard, Luverne, Madison, Sioux Valley and Viborg-Hurley.
Action begins in the Elementary School Gym at 10 a.m. Organizers are using a rolling schedule so rounds will begin immediately after one another. The championship and consolation rounds begin 30 minutes after the completion of wrestlebacks.
Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students for the all day pass.
