Randy V. Plummer, age 67, of Egan, SD, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD.
Randy was born January 4, 1950 at Flandreau, SD, to Virtus and Dorothy (Nebben) Plummer. He received his education in Egan, SD, graduating from Egan High School in 1968. Randy attended Pipestone Vocational School for meat cutting. He started farming with his father and then joined the Flandreau National Guard. Randy married Rhonda Christensen in Flandreau on April 8, 1972. He continued farming and worked for the Egan Public School as a janitor until the school closed. Randy farmed for Steve Wendell to the present time. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, hunting and spending time with his grandkids. Randy is survived by his wife Rhonda, four children, Malissa (Nick) Otto, Egan; Matt (Terri) Plummer, Flandreau; Mandy (Jack McCloud) Plummer, Egan; Michael (Lindsay) Plummer, Brookings; three grandchildren, Tyler, Ellyana, and Braiden with another grandson, Mason, due in May; three sisters, Becki (Larry) Landgren, Flandreau, SD; Pam (Craig) Thies, Pipestone, MN; and Amy (Jason) Ellsworth, Brandon, SD; and nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service was held January 14, 2017 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Flandreau, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Egan.
