David S. Kohler, 94, of Arvada, CO passed away March 7, 2024.
He was born October 16, 1929 to Lloyd and Florence Kohler in Flandreau, SD. He grew up on the family farm in Flandreau and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1947 and also graduated from St. Louis University/Parks College in 1951. He was in the Air Force Reserves from 1951-1963. David married Gladys Nass on June 7, 1952. They made their home in Arvada in 1961 after several moves with his employer, Frontier Airlines.
He worked as a pilot (flight engineer) for Frontier/Continental Airlines until his retirement in 1999. David and Gladys traveled all over the world until Gladys’ death in 2012.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gladys Kohler, and son Bradley Kohler. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Kohler and Randall (Tomoko) Kohler; his daughter, Kathy Galloway (Cliff Hannam); three grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, September 27 at the Flandreau Union Cemetery.
