William Fuller passed away on the morning of April 1st, 2023, at Lake Minnetonka Shores where he had been contently living and well cared for since March of 2021.
Bill was born at the family home in Flandreau, South Dakota to Earl and Grace Fuller (Hiveley) on July 14th, 1931. He was fond of his hometown and the benefits of growing up in a small community. He was active in sports throughout his school years, graduating from Flandreau High School in 1949, and the University of South Dakota in 1953. He served in the US Army, including a tour in Germany in the mid-1950’s. On May 8th, 1965, Bill married the love of his life, Ann Nemecek after praying to God to lead him to a wife. The years following brought four children; Beth Martinson (Tony), Doug Fuller (Jeri), Amy Fuller (Fiancé John), and Billy Fuller (partner Erica), and in time grandchildren; Luke and Katelyn Martinson, and Lexi Fuller. In 1968 they moved into their home in Minnetonka, and it stayed with the family until Ann’s passing in September of 2022. Family vacations to Cass Lake Episcopal Camp were a highlight of the children’s growing up years. Having a strong faith and a strong family were the most important things to both Bill and Ann. He will be missed dearly. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Bill is survived by his sister, Janet Baker and her two daughters, and his half nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents Timothy Mills Fuller and Ella May Fuller (Arnold), and maternal grandparents Samuel James Hiveley and Emma Martha Hiveley (Killen), his wife Ann Sarah Bestwick Fuller, his mother and father, half siblings John Henry and Ruth Whitman (Henry), stepmother Faye Fuller, and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Funeral service will be held at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Minnetonka on Friday, May 5th at 11am.
