Paul J. Weinand, 66, of Pipestone, MN passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at Avera Flandreau Hospital.
Paul was born on October 24, 1955 in Minneapolis, MN to Earl and Lorraine (Brenny) Weinand. They moved to Sioux Falls, SD when he was a young boy and he graduated from O’Gorman High School in 1974. He graduated from Northern State University, Aberdeen with an accounting degree and then got his master’s degree at UND, Grand Forks. He married Pat Kellen and they had a son, Nate. He married Peg Brandt and they had twin daughters Emily and Erica. Paul married Kris (Reed) Scofield on August 4, 2007 at Lake Cochrane, SD.  Paul worked at McGladrey Financial Services, Norwest Bank and American Western all in Sioux Falls. Paul next worked at Daktronics, Brookings where he was the CFO for approximately 10 years. He loved woodworking so he went to Lemme Cabinetry, Wentworth, SD to enhance his skills until retiring in 2012. Paul enjoyed camping, gardening, crossword puzzles, the Minnesota Twins, formerly was an active golfer and spending time with his family and friends. Paul was always up for going to the sprint car races with his sprinting buddies. Paul thoroughly enjoyed cooking, however he never would follow a recipe without putting his special touch on it which always worked because it tasted amazing.
Paul is survived by his wife, Kris, two daughters, Emily (Kyle) Heyn, Wentworth; Erica (Kole Vondrak) Weinand, Des Moines, IA; four stepchildren, Tiffany (Chance) Brown, Brandon, SD; Adam (Kelly) Scofield, Rapid City, SD; Kyle (Malea) Scofield, Butte, MT; Jake (Amy) Scofield, Omaha, NE; eight grandchildren, Jaxon, Lucas, Clara, Hudson, Camden, Baby Heyn, Asher, McKenna; 2 sisters, Renita (Ken) Lewis, Kansas City, KS and Mary (Don) Robinson, Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his son, Nate Weinand, parents and brother, Bill Weinand.
Graveside services were held Saturday, July 2 at Salem United Methodist Cemetery, rural Pipestone, MN followed by a Celebration of Life at the family farm. Memorials to the Sioux Falls Humane Society.
