Posted
Brenda Wade Schmidt
Moody County will have a virtual Memorial Day service this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Members of the local Egan, Colman and Flandreau American Legion Posts and the Moody Post of the VFW are livestreaming the event at 10 a.m. May 25, with the help of CS Entertainment. The event will be on the CS Entertainment Facebook page and on the YouTube channel @CSEntertainmentSD or Moody County Virtual Memorial Day Service 2020. It will also be available on those sites afterwards for anyone who misses it live.
The service will include Colman, Flandreau and Egan auxiliary members and high school students from around Moody County.
CS Entertainment is owned by Carter Schmidt of Colman.
In Trent, the Hjellman-Anderson American Legion Post #122 and its auxiliary will start with a Naval service at the bridge at 9:45 a.m., followed by 10 a.m. services at the Trent Cemetery. At 10:30 a.m., services will be held at the Salem Cemetery, followed by 11 a.m. services at Oslo and Bethania cemeteries, and 11:30 a.m. services at Nelson and Riverview cemeteries.
