Lois was born November 21, 1929, to Ray and Clara Heinemann. She attended school and graduated at St Mary’s Catholic School in Dell Rapids in 1947. She married Harry Gaspar on June 4, 1953. In 1954 they moved four miles north of Lone Tree and farmed there 38 years before retiring in 1991. They moved to Flandreau until 2012 when they moved to Orchard Hills, Dell Rapids where she resided until the week before her death. She belonged to Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and MWC Club
Her family was her life. Whether it was smelling fresh doughnuts when they got off the bus, picking out their favorite-colored frosting on their birthday cakes to massive Easter egg hunts. Always having a white box of Flandreau bakery doughnuts on her island in the anticipation of a family member dropping by. Her love was evident in all she did, always available if needed. Lois was never too busy to take the time. Her heart was most full when her home was filled with kids, food, and laughter.
Grateful for sharing her life are her children; David Gaspar and his wife, Audrey, Flandreau, SD, Jim Gaspar and his wife, Kristina, Peoria, AZ, Diane Tiedemann and her husband, Randy, Flandreau, SD, Gene Gaspar, Pheonix, AZ, Lisa Boulais and her husband, Troy, Bruce, SD and Brian Gaspar and his wife, Kim, Dell Rapids, SD; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Gaspar, children, Mary and Edward Gaspar, grandson, Logan Gaspar, and brother, Arnie Heinemann.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Mary’s Catholic School in Dell Rapids.
