Lane B. Miller

Lane B. Miller, age 87 of Sioux Falls and formerly of Flandreau, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Sanford USD Medical Center Emergency Room in Sioux Falls.
Funeral Service was held Monday, October 23 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Flandreau.  Skroch Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lane Benedict Miller was born on December 16, 1935, to Benedict and Lillian (Johnson) Miller in Flandreau.  He graduated from Flandreau High School in 1954.  After graduation, Lane attended Augustana College before enlisting in the United States Army.  He faithfully served his country from 1955-1958.  
On April 13, 1957, Lane married Sharon Lewis in Kenmore, Washington.  The family moved to Flandreau, SD where they farmed and raised their family.
Lane enjoyed many activities including golf, playing cards and cribbage, square dancing, watching Westerns, The Andy Griffith Show and Fox News.  Lane also played pitcher in the fast pitch league in his younger years.  Lane served on the Big Sioux Rural Water Board, the ASCS Board, and was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.  Lane was truly grateful for the great staff and friends he made while living at Grand Living.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; children, Stacey (Laurie) Miller, Jody Sinclair, Marc (Amy) Miller, and Susan (Dale) Westover; grandchildren: Andy (Kelly) Miller, Michael (Sally) Miller, Emily Miller, Thomas (Lindsey) Sinclair, Chelsey (Mitch) Anderson, Caleb (Emily) Tollefson, Dustin (Meghann) Westover and Shelbi (Trev Koedam) Westover; and 14 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Mary Lou Miller and Linda Ruth Rallis.
