Gordon Petersen, age 79, died November 11, 2023.
Gordon was born January 19, 1944 to Nels and Evelyn (Johnson) Petersen. He received his education in the Flandreau Schools. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1962. He married Gloria Bolte of Elkton and the couple had three children, Ronald, Scott and Tiffany Petersen. Gordon and Gloria bought restaurants and bar restaurants in Minnesota. They divorced and Gordon lived with his son Scott later in life. He was diagnosed with cancer and entered the V.A. in Minneapolis where he died this past Veteran’s Day.
His siblings are Beverly Illian of LeSeuer, MN, Alice (Charlie) Ryan of Flandreau and Ed (Alona) Petersen of Sioux Falls.
Burial is in the V.A. Cemetery in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.
