On November 16th, Flandreau Elementary hosted a Family Reading and Art Night for students and their families. The Title I and VI staff organized reading activities and guest speakers. Mrs. Ahrens also displayed artwork by the Elementary students.
Guest Speaker Kenneth James, Sr., shown at left, told the story of the arrow maker and the healing bend. Kenneth is the Native American Chaplin for Sanford in Sioux Falls & the Pastor for the Ponca Creek Community.
Guest reader Emily Pieper read to the families at Family Reading and Art Night to close out the evening.
