She married her high school sweetheart Ron Gourneau on July 3rd, 1970 in Belcourt ND. She moved to Flandreau, SD in 1974 where she was employed by the Flandreau Indian School. Carol worked as a clerk for the facility management department. She was an early pioneer in helping create a computer system used in Facilities and she traveled the country implementing it.
She was fond of traveling to meet her large extended family of brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews for annual Jeanotte reunions. She loved to travel the world with her husband and sister Marlene (and Kenny). She had a love of wine tasting and perhaps her favorite pastime was drinking coffee and watching the Minnesota Twins.
