Byron (Harv) Harvison, 90, died Wednesday, June 2, 2023 at Spring Hill Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, TN.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Skroch Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Union Cemetery in Flandreau, South Dakota.
Byron was born May 31, 1933 in Mitchell, SD to Charles and Leora (Harter) Harvison. He graduated from Flandreau High School class of ‘51 and was married to Wilma Duncan on December 23, 1954 in Flandreau. They were married for 68 years.
Byron was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy in December of 1953 and spent 22 years flying in the Navy until retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. While stationed in Bellevue, NE he graduated Suma Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in business. After retiring from the United States Navy, Byron continued his flying as a career for Northern Telecom in Nashville, TN as a corporate pilot. After several years with Northern Telecom he and Wilma settled in Franklin, TN.   
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Harvison of Franklin, TN; two children, Steven Harvison (Lori) of Huntsville, AL and Kristen Harvison of Franklin, TN; his sister Marilyn Eide of Folsom California; three granddaughters, Stephanie Harvison of Boulder, Co; Jennifer Hinson of Miami, FL; and Kaitlen Hinson of Douglasville, GA; two grandsons, Jordan (Danielle) Lowery of Huntsville, AL and Logan (Jessika) Lowery of Elkmont, TN; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; mother Leora; and his brother Jerome.
