Holiday activities in November in Flandreau include the traditional holiday parade through downtown, a soup cook off and a craft mall.
The theme for this year’s parade at 6 p.m. Nov. 24 is “It’s a Small World,” celebrating the cultures in Flandreau.
Floats and entries may register up until the event with line up taking place behind the Moody County Courthouse facing west.
Awards will be given for use of theme, best business float and best youth float.
Nominations are being taken for parade marshal to Emilyfirman@gmail.com or 864-1515. She would like nominations by Nov. 8.
Organizations, businesses, families and individuals in the Moody County area are invited to participate in the Christmas Tree Festival. We are asking participants to decorate their Christmas tree in honor of a non-profit organization of their choice.
Setup times will be Monday, November 26th through Friday, November 30th from 8am to 4pm.
All trees must be artificial and not over six feet or under three feet. Electricity will be provided on a “first come” first serve basis.
To register call Marty Skroch, Commissioner Office at 573-4353, email martys@moodycounty.net .
