Flandreau’s 150th anniversary committee has chosen a logo to be used in marketing the event and for T-shirts and other souvenir items that will be sold to mark the occasion.
The final logo was chosen from the design efforts of two people who submitted logos in a contest. Since the committee picked ideas from each of the two different logos, they raised the award to $200. Buck Bauske will be awarded $100 for his efforts on the work. The remaining $100 was donated back to the committee by the other creator.

The logo will be used on T-shirts, mugs and more, plus will be used for marketing, said Dan Sutton, a member of the sesquicentennial committee. Some items will be available for sale as early as October. T-shirts will have a logo without pictures, he said.
The committee received submitted logos from a handful of people who provided at least eight examples, he said.
The event will be held in conjunction with an all-school reunion July 3-6, 2019.
The committee has a $60,000 budget it will work with for the anniversary. That includes $15,000 from the city and the rest from sponsors or donations, he said. All money will go through the city offices.
Anyone who wants to participate on the anniversary committee or volunteer for events should contact city hall or Sutton at 605-864-1477. Or anyone who would like to help with the All-School reunion plans should contact Sandy Sheppard at 605-530-1899.
