Flandreau’s One-Act Play heads to State

Posted

The Flandreau High School one-act play cast and crew was selected to advance to the South Dakota State One-Act Festival to be held in Sioux Falls on February 6-8.
Their state performance is scheduled for 10:15am on Saturday, February 8, at the Sioux Falls O’Gorman High School Performing Arts Center. The festival is open to the public and no admission fee is charged.

FHS earned the right to advance at the Region IIIA One-Act Play competition held Wednesday, January 30, in Madison. In addition to the team honor, four FHS students were recognized with Outstanding Performer awards: Grace Johanson, Austin Kulm, Brooklyn Roozen and Liam Streitz.
The cast will perform Lafayette No. 1 by Mandy Connor.  The historical drama takes place in New Orleans and examines the plight of children left orphaned and homeless as a consequence of the yellow fever outbreak experienced in the region throughout the 1800s and is based on figures and events from New Orleans’ history.  The production is directed by Kristi Fischer.
