'Understanding Grief' classes begin March 7 in Brookings

BROOKINGS — Brookings Health System’s free six-week educational series, "Understanding Grief," will begin  March 7. The class series is led by social worker Donna Bumann.

Sessions will be Thursdays through April 11 from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. at Brookings Health System’s Conference Room C.

The classes are designed to help those who have lost a loved one learn about the process of grief and how to navigate it. Topics include the symptoms and process of grief, coping strategies, caring for one’s self, and the continuing bond that occurs. Discussions are confidential and carried out in an atmosphere of understanding and support.
