The Colman-Egan School District is expanding its teaching staff to meet the needs of its growing student population.
With 33 students already registered for Kindergarten next year, district officials recognized the necessity for an additional section and took action in early March. Lexie Heyn, an educator who spent five years teaching in the district, has been hired as the teacher for the second section.
Superintendent Scott Hemmer said that Heyn is eager to get back into the classroom.
The district has also extended the school year by adding an extra in-school day. The new last day of school for Colman-Egan students will be on May 15th, with high school and junior high semester tests scheduled for the 14th and 15th.
