Flandreau, SD – Avera Flandreau Hospital will host a community blood drive Thursday, August 17 between 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with donor registration located in the hospital lobby. Donors can schedule their donation by logging onto www.cbblifeblood.org, selecting “events”, and August 17th or call 605-331-3222. Walk-ins are welcome, appointments are preferred. All who donate receive a donor t-shirt and Subway gift card.  
“As summer enters the last few weeks, many people are trying to sneak in their final vacations, summer activities, and enjoy time with friends and family. This becomes the most challenging time of the year to get residents to give blood,” states Lauri Hoffmann, Program Coordinator, Community Blood Bank.”In 30 minutes donors can provide lifesaving blood to 3 local patients. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health the day of the donation. Please bring an I.D.
